So, who are we?

Wild Sun Rescue Center works to rescue, rehabilitate, and release wild animals that are sick, injured, or orphaned, returning them to their natural habitat as quickly as possible. We have a dedicated team of biologists, veterinarians, and volunteers who work on the front lines of conservation to provide the best care possible for these animals and return them to a healthy life in the wild.

On a broader scale, we are also working to promote ecosystem health by reintroducing native species that have been wiped out from our region. The iconic Scarlet Macaw is our first species reintroduction initiative that is underway. Teamed up with AsoProLapa, we are bringing these beautiful birds back to Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula where they once thrived!

That sounds like a lot of work...

Yeah, it is. Our volunteers, interns, and staff work long hours to ensure that each animal in our care is healthy and prepared for a successful life in the wild. As you can imagine, this work can be pretty resource-intensive, as animals require lots of food, enclosures, and medical equipment, among countless other needs.

But who's paying for all this?

As a wildlife rescue center, Wild Sun receives no government funding, and unlike pets who go to a vet clinic, wild animals don't have owners to pay for their expensive medical treatments. Thus, we are entirely dependent on individual donors to keep our organization running. That's where you come in!

Why $100,000 goal?

This is a symbolic number just to get our fundraising juices flowing. In reality, our needs include building a vet clinic (~$80,000) equipped with a digital x-ray machine (~$20,000), various blood work machines (~$3,000), etc. Up to 12 new enclosures ($3,500-$10,000 each), a post release study framework with GPS trackers ($~2,000), ongoing maintenance, veterinarian costs, and more... The more we can raise, the more we can do for wildlife rehab and conservation initiatives in general.

How can I help?

By making a one-time or repeating donation, you'll help us help wildlife in need and contribute to the betterment of the world around us. How amazing does that sound?? Together we can make an incredible difference for wildlife - change starts with you!
