Who are Understorey Network?

Understorey Network is a community organisation dedicated to growing native Tasmanian plants for revegetation projects that help restore habitats for threatened and endangered animals and plants.

We also have volunteers with disabilities help us out from community group Life without Barriers.

Why do we need your help?

On Sunday thieves broke into our nursery in Hobart and stole most of the plants destined for a revegetation project to help the endangered orange-bellied parrot. They also caused damage to the doors and benches and stole tools and plants for other projects and destined for sale to help us raise money. Check out the Mercury article for more information: http://www.themercury.com.au/news/tasmania/low-act...

What will the money be spent on?

Growing more plants to replace those stolen, repairing the damage to the nursery which we estimate will cost about $1500, plus replacing stolen tools and other gardening products.

Understorey Network is always looking for new members, if you are interested in joining check out the webpage: http://www.understorey-network.org.au/
