This fundrasier for the Secwepemc Tiny Hous Warriors' tiny house #3 has now ended. If you would like to contribute to the fundrasing for the rest of the tiny houses to be built on Secwepemc territory, you can send your contributions directly here.

This fundraiser will allow for the purchase of materials to build a tiny home on a trailer - the third of ten - for grassroots Secwepemc.

The tiny home will be built on W'sanec Territory (victoria), and will be sent to Secwepemc to fulfill three very important purposes:

(1) to help the Secwepemc exercise their authority over their traditional territory and block Kinder Morgan from carrying out its TransMountain expansion;

(2) to support continued Secwepemc efforts to resurge their cultural, spiritual and material connection to their ancestral homeland;

and, (3) to help address the ongoing impacts of settler colonialism by providing a safe, affordable, and more sustainable home for an elder in the Secwepemc community.

Construction of the tiny home will take place over the next month on W'sanec Territory - colonially known as victoria - following a ceremony by a Tsartlip Nation elder in preparation for the build. Funds will be used immediately to purchase solar panels, wood, windows and more.

Any funds raised in addition to our goal will go directly to the construction of the remaining tiny homes to be built. This project is running entirely off the grassroots efforts of people like you to block Kinder Morgan and work towards meaningful decolonization.

As Kanahus Manuel has stated, "We the Secwepemc have never provided and will never provide our collective consent to the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Pipeline Project. In fact, we hereby explicitly and irrevocably refuse its passage through our territory."

We thank you for supporting this build, and for sharing this fundraiser amongst your networks.

The Tiny House Warriors: Our Land is Home https://www.facebook.com/tinyhousewarriors/ is an indigenous-led project to stop the Kinder Morgan TransMountain pipeline from crossing unceded Secwepemc territory. Ten tiny houses will be built and placed strategically along the 518 kilometre pipeline route traversing Secwepemc territory in the direct path of the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion and to assert Secwepemc Law and jurisdiction and to block access to the tar sands bitumen pipeline, fuelling a 700% increase of tanker traffic on the Salish sea.

The Secwepemc have never given and will never give consent for this pipeline which threatens their water, health and way of life--and sovereignty. These structures will be used to facilitate a re-occupying of their unceded territory and is part of an indigenous resurgence, re-asserting Secwepemc responsibility and jurisdiction and right to self-determination over Secwepemc lands, waters and resources.

Each tiny house will provide housing to Secwepemc families facing a housing shortage due to deliberate colonial impoverishment. Each home will eventually be installed with off-the-grid solar power. The Tiny House Warrior Movement will be the start of re-establishing village sites and asserting Secwepemc authority over unceded territories.
