About The Joe Strummer Foundation

Set up by family and friends a year after Joe Strummer passed away The Joe Strummer Foundation seek to give opportunities to musicians and support to projects around the world that create empowerment through music. More can be found on

We provide support to projects

There are many music & arts-related projects here in the UK and around the world that are doing amazing things through music - social projects, rehabilitation projects and fundraising events. Music is a powerful medium, it brings people together regardless of race, social background or class.

Here’s what we’re doing about it

We are contacted almost daily by music project leaders around the world asking for support. We have to go through a painful process of selecting which ones we can help and which we can not. the decision to not be able to help is 99% of the time based on financial reasons. The simple matter of the fact is if we had more funds we could help more music projects like WAYour Arts, OnTrack in Camden, In Place of War, Choir With No Name and so many more.

And here's how we're going to change the world

By donating directly to The Joe Strummer Foundation Main Fund, or organising your own fundraising event via this page, you will be giving support to music projects around the world. As a supporter, we will also keep you closely informed on the progress of our projects, so you can see first hand where your money is going and how it is spent.

The projects we have supported over the years really have helped change lives and given an opportunity to folks who need it. We invite you to read up on our work by visiting Our Projects page on our website.

Joe Strummer famously said "Without People, You're Nothing." and this quote is our mantra and it still rings loud & true to this day.

Together, with your help, we can make small changes to people's lives.

You can join us

By making a donation via this page you will be joining The Joe Strummer Foundation and will be helping us to realise our mission and help us provide much-needed support to music projects around the world that create empowerment through music.

By organising a fundraising event - either a music-related event or sponsored walk/run, darts match, bake-off, garage boot sale whatever you can think! - you will be joining a small but growing army of Joe Strummer Foundation supporters. All united under a common goal, to change the world through music.
