A little bit of context
An elephant is poached for its ivory every 15 minutes. As a result their population is quickly plummeting towards extinction. As the adults are poached, plenty of babies are left without the care and protection they need and as a result would certainly die as well.
But there’s help on hand
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) rescues these orphans, nurtures them back to health and cares for them until they are ready to be re-integrated into the wild.
The charity also provides veterinary care and funds anti-poaching patrols for wildlife.
Here’s what we’re doing about it
Wilderness Forever Foundation is raising funds to support the DSWT and protect our wildlife
