Here's who we are

What is a HopeBox? Put simply, its nutritious lunch boxes made by rural Vietnamese women who have fled domestic violence.

When you order lunch from HopeBox, all proceeds go to helping us provide paid-work, accommodation and the tools to enable women who have escaped domestic violence to be financially independent for the future.

As November is International Domestic Violence Awareness Month, HopeBox is proud to present its first inaugural 'Walk for Hope' fundraising event.

Taking place on the 23rd of November 2019, it's our way of raising awareness about the growing epidemic of domestic violence in Vietnam.

This year, we are lucky enough to have friends around the world joining us in Hanoi, Saigon, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Brighton.

Here's the problem

Only recently has domestic abuse in Vietnam been recognised as a growing national epidemic.

58% of married Vietnamese women have suffered physical, sexual and emotional violence by their husband.

87% did not seek to report the abuse at the time.

Without government funding or investment for a social startup-like HopeBox, all of our expenses have heavily depended on our founder's contribution to help us work toward sustainability.

Walk for Hope is a fundraising event will provide the women who are at HopeBox stability for another year.

Here’s what  we need

Our Walk for Hope Event will be held in Hanoi, Saigon, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Brighton. We will have a team leader for each city and anyone can create their own team or sign up to do it individually. It's only 3km and will be a great day to get together with friends, family or colleagues and make a mesaurable difference.

HopeBox needs to secure funding of $12,000 to pay for our rent for 2019/2020. This house has been a peaceful place for our women to cook, run a small cafe, provide secure accommodation. It's been a place where they feel empowered and have felt free. It's also been a hub for many personal development seminars, yoga, English training and mentoring.

In addition to this, HopeBox wants to provide a partial scholarship to students who have come from a disadvantaged background and affected by domestic violence. Helping them return to school is a way to break the cycle of domestic violence.

We ask you to join us to give HOPE to the women and children who we have the privilege to support.
