Vital online support for men and their families living with prostate cancer.

Your generosity helps more men with prostate cancer connect with the services they need to get their lives back to normal.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer diagnosed in men in Australia, claiming the lives of around 3,500 men in 2018.

It is a complex disease that can also cause a range of health problems including bladder or bowel incontinence, sexual dysfunction and mental health issues.

We want to fund the re-development of the Australian Prostate Centre’s on-line portal, PROSTMATE, to give more men living with prostate cancer on-line access to vital healthcare support, knowledge and specialised clinicians, no matter where they live.

The Australian Prostate Centre offers 360 degrees of prostate cancer care including diagnosis, treatment and support at the centre in North Melbourne. Many men cannot attend the centre in person.

The PROSTMATE portal will give all men the benefits of attending the centre, without attending in person.  Patients can make appointments, track their health, access a library of important information, and video consult with specialised clinicians like nurses, Physiologists and Psychologists.

PROSTMATE is a vital service – particularly for men living in remote or regional areas where help is not readily available. Many are trying to tackle this insidious disease alone. They need our support.

At the end of the day, we want to do whatever we can to help more men with prostate cancer live longer, better quality lives.

How PROSTMATE works.

After being asked a few simple questions about their diagnosis and clinical treatment pathway, PROSTMATE tailors information to the user's profile, giving the user clearly structured information that is relevant to their specific journey. PROSTMATE also allows users to monitor their health and wellbeing, side effects of treatment and log important events, and it can connect them to a network of clinicians and allied health professionals for online consultations.

Help us build PROSTMATE.

With supporting PROSTMATE, you will help us bring PROSTMATE to the many Australian men who need guidance, support and care throughout their prostate cancer journey.
