“Do you want to join us in making a difference to the local community in these troubling times?”
In these uncertain times the vulnerable and homeless are now more than ever in need.
Supermarket shelves are also often empty and food relief charity OzHarvest* are still out in their yellow vans trying to get food to those who need it most. At the same time Pawpaw have a team of chefs that are out of work and a huge kitchen just sitting empty. Rather than have to let all of our chefs go and have our kitchens go unused, we’ve come up with the idea to cook food for those in need during these difficult times.
While we are still open for dinner, our plan is to open our kitchen mornings to cook meals for those in need. Our goal, with your help, is to continue to do this until our community is over this terrible crisis.
What we are asking for from you is your donation to help cover the costs of food ingredients and to enable us to keep an extra chef employed, and we will cover all the rest. When our dine in restaurant is allowed to reopen, if there is any money left in the donation account, we will donate the funds to OzHarvest who will be able to provide 2 meals for every $1.
Remember - “We can stop events. We can stop sporting matches. But we cannot stop feeding people”. Ronni Kahn AO, Founder of OzHarvest
So, we’d like to ask you donate whatever you can to help support this very important project and allow all of us to help those most in need.
*OzHarvest Brisbane in 2019 delivered 3.5 million meals, 130+ recipient charities including emergency relief programs, family and domestic violence shelters, school breakfast programs and street outreach services.
