The Issue

The track at Medway High School is original to the school's opening in 1949. Today it is overgrown with vegetation and is of limited use for training, intramural or competitive meets. In fact track athletes are having to pay to access outside facilities to train.

What we’re doing about it

The Ilderton & District Lions have taken on the task of raising funds to build a new 6-Lane Synthetic Track at the School. Through the generosity of the community, the Lions have raised sufficient funds to build the new track and high jump area. However, an additional $76,000 is needed to include the pole vault, long jump and triple jump aspects of the project.

Ground breaking for the track is expected in May 2018. Ideally we would like to include the build out of the pole vault and jumps area at the same time.
