Desi Steward has been a creative and inspiring figure in the local and surrounding areas of the Art Community for 10+ years. And he has touched the hearts and lives of those around him in ways even he couldn't have imagined. All done with the Desi charisma, humor, and wit that we have all come to know and love.
Cause for Concern
Several weeks ago our inspiring Desi was dianosed with Colorectal Cancer( see information below also). And he has already begun his journey towards recovery. But he does and will need the continued support of the community on all fronts to continue this journey.
Sharing is Caring
Those who have had a family member, friend, or aquaintence who has been touched by cancer, knows the extremely stressful and draining financial burden it carries. And Desi is no stranger to this added financial burden. As he currently carries the weight of the day to day expenses, on top of the significant added medical expenses that his insurance coverage is already refusing to cover so early in his ardenous journey. But he doesn't have to carry that torch alone because we are here to share in it with him.
I'm on a mission to raise $25,000 to assist Desi with his ongoing daily expenses and mounting medical costs that will be a beacon during his cancer journey. And I know many of you have expressed your interest in assisting as well. No contribution is too small or insignificant. And a open-ended campaign creates the opportunity for on-going monthly contributions for those willing and able to do so. If you would like to contribute by check or other paper method, please send an email to [email protected] to request a mailing address. Lets kick this Cancer to the curb where it belongs!!
There will be bi-weekly status updates. Currently Desi is in-between treatments and is awaiting updates on the next steps in his treatment process.
If you would like to send Desi an email or words of encouragement, please feel free to do so at [email protected] . Note that it may take some time for him to send a reply because he isnt feeling well or is tired from the treatments.
