Tutu Puoane here.
Firstly, let me tell you, I was extremely hesitant to take this route. I had to dig real deep to find the courage to do this. So, here I am, asking for your help to finalise this 'love project'.
Many of you who came to my Joni Mitchell Project concerts, wanted to buy a CD after the concert. I told you all to go buy an original Joni Mitchell album, but many of you already had all her albums and you still insisted on buying 'my versions' of Joni's songs. For that I am truly humbled and profusely grateful. Your kind and warm words gave me the courage I needed to start thinking about making this live recording.
When the music and words are this beautiful and this timeless, I guess it's our duty to keep them alive for centuries to come. Joni's music has resonated with me from the very first time I listened to her Mingus project when I was 18 years old. It's incredible how this music has stayed with me throughout my life and how these words mean something completely different to me now as a grown woman, a wife and a mother of 2.
The music is already recorded and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Impact - how your contribution helps:
As an independent artist with a very small label, everything we put out there is done with our small pockets and sometimes, those pockets run dry. This is, of course, one of those times. Gone are the days where big corporate music labels paid for everything (and earned everything). With your help, I hope to raise €4500 to pay some of the costs of producing this album:
- Mobile recording studio + recording engineer
- Printing of physical copies
- Artwork and design
- Publishing and copyright fees
- Fees for Chuffed and credit card companies
What you get in return:
Of course you should get something in return for your generosity. Depending on your donation budget, there is a number of perks you will receive once your donation has been received.
From CD's to concert tickets and even a duo live concert at a location of your choice. Please refer to the perks section.
If you'd like to make a donation but do not have paypal or a credit card, you're more than welcome to make a money transfer to our bank account. Make sure to send us an email with your postal address so that your perk finds its way to you.
