The Global Slavery Index estimates that 45.8 million men, women and children are enslaved around the world, including in Australia where there are 4,300 people living in modern slavery*.
PROJECT FUTURES creates meaningful expereinces that connect, empower and educate our generation to end human trafficking and exploitation.
In February 2017, a group of participants will embark on an inspiring trekking adventure to raise funds to support survivors of modern day slavery right here in our own backyard, Australia.
The Great Ocean Walk offers some of the world's most spectacular scenery. As part of this three-day challenge, we will venture from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles, wandering underneath towering trees, across rocky seashores, along glorious deserted beaches and overlooking breathtaking cliff tops.
The funds raised will provide vital support for our Impact Partner, The Salvation Army’s Trafficking and Slavery Safe House.
The Safe House is the only supported accommodation service within Australia that offers comprehensive and culturally appropriate case management to men, women and young people who have experienced human trafficking or are at severe risk of slavery.
The more we learn about this issue, the more we feel compelled to do something about it.
