We are the Inclusive Research Network!
The Inclusive Research Network (IRN) are a group of people with intellectual disability and their allies who meet at the Centre for Disability Studies to create research that will increase the choice, voice, and control of people with disabilities.
Our motto is "Nothing about us without us!" Each year we present our research at the Australasian Society for Intellectual Disability (ASID) conference. This year it is in Adelaide.
But there’s a problem
Many of us have been finding it difficult to secure funding for this trip via our NDIS packages.
Here’s what we’re doing about it
We supported 4 of our members to apply for grants to cover the costs of conference registration. They were all successful, reducing the amount we have to fundraise by $1600- hooray!
We held a fundraising trivia night on Wednesday 25th September, which raised over $1500- hooray!
We have reached out to all of you wonderful peoplel, and raised $2000 through Crowdfunding from June to October- hooray!
Just $1500 left to go!
Let's make sure that the voices of people with intellectual disabilities are included in this important conference for leaders and academics in the disability sector.
