A little bit of context

Dabchicks Sailing Club are appealing to our members to achieve our ambition of keeping our clubhouse adequate to meet our needs, and something to be proud of now and in the future.

But there’s a problem

Our female changing room facilities in parts date from the 1950s and 1980s, so are very outdated and require substantial modernisation. As our building has been re-purposed over the years, we have uneven floor levels and need to reconfigure the size of our female changing facilities to cope with the increasing demand placed upon them.

Here’s what we’re doing about it

With some clever rearranging of non-load bearing walls and doorways, as well as incorporating redundant corridor space and storage space, the size of the changing room can be significantly increased to be comparable with the recently upgraded male changing room and refurbished to the same standard.

Our enlarged and modernised female changing rooms will provide facilities equal in standard to that provided for the male rooms. The improved environment will be warm, welcoming, and clean, and be generally more inviting for our female members and visitors.

We need to raise £20,000 for the structural work and refurbishments.
