In February 2017, a group of PROJECT FUTURES advocates will embark on an inspiring adventure to raise funds to support survivors of modern day slavery in Australia.
It would be no surprise to hear that I’m joining the adventure.
I’m a Micah 6:8 woman.
'And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.'
I invite you to share it with me.
To raise awareness and funds for The Salvation Army’s Trafficking & Slavery Safe House I’m participating in the 40km freedom walk from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles in Victoria, February 24th -26th 2017.
This three day Great Ocean Road trek will raise vital funds for The Salvation Army’s Trafficking & Slavery Safe House, providing care and assistance to survivors of human trafficking and modern day slavery in Australia.
The Trafficking & Slavery Safe House works to transform, restore and empower the lives of those affected by slavery and exploitation. I’m inviting you to support my efforts to raise funds for the Safe House so the team can continue its work in supporting survivors of Human Trafficking.
I am personally covering all my personal expenses to participate. All donations will go directly to The Salvation Army’s Trafficking & Slavery Safe House, Australia's only refuge for victims of modern slavery.
NOT IN MY COUNTRY – Well, you might be surprised to know the truth.
The Global Slavery Index estimates that 45.8 million men, women and children are enslaved around the world, including in Australia where there are 4,300 people living in modern slavery.
No person should be owned by another or forcibly belong to another. Help us to create an empowered world where each person has the capacity and the freedom to choose their own path in life.
Each participant has a minimum fundraising target of $2,500.
Every dollar of the total raised will be donated directly to the Safe House.
I would greatly appreciate if you would consider supporting my walk by donating to the Safe House.
