WHAT JOSH & TOM ARE DOING
So Josh Merkas & Tom Dickson both play Powerchair Football for the Brisbane Strikers in the Queensland Powerchair Football Association league. Powerchair Football is just like Football/Soccer but it is played on a basketball court with two teams of 4 players each in electric/power wheelchairs.
This year Josh & Tom, due to their excellent form in the QPFA league, have ben selected in a team of 6 players to represent Queensland at the Australian Powerchair Football Association Nationals to be held in Sydney in October.
WHY JOSH & TOM NEED YOUR SUPPORT
As most disabled sports Powerchair Football receives little if not no funding and therefore the costs associated with competing at a National Championships falls solely on the individuals who get selected to go.
The people who play Powerchiar football have conditions that usual require them to have personal carers to assist them with every day tasks such as showering or just putting a uniform on.
To go to the Nationals it will cost Tom & Josh just over $2000.00 each.
WITHOUT your support Josh & Tom will struggle to get to the Nationals and achiever National Selection for Australia.
