Front-end Developer (no longer available)

Front-end developer job in rapidly-growing, funded, social-cause startup, changing the world.

Who is Chuffed.org?

We're a purpose-led company that's transforming how people think about charities around the world. Instead of thinking of the charity muggers harassing you on your way to work, we're making the face of charity awesome, exciting projects that people want to be part of.

Since launching in October 2013, we've raised over $5.9M for 1,500 projects in 19 countries. We've reunited a Somali refugee mother with her son that she hadn't seen in 23 years; we've helped legalise medicinal marijuana for the terminally ill; we've transformed how the Vanuatu Government does disaster relief... and a lot more.

We're now ramping up growth and that's where you come in.

What you'll be doing?

As a rapidly growing startup, you'll be very hands on in building the best crowdfunding platform for community organisations in the world. You'll be:

- Designing and iterating an intuitive, beautiful UX for community organisations to create crowdfunding campaigns
- A/B testing, tweaking, listening and adapting as customers give us feedback
- Shipping reusable, scalable code every day
- Working in an ever-changing, rapidly-scaling startup environment

What we're looking for

The basics:
- You care: we're a purpose-led company and we love working with people who care about the world around them
- You learn: because there's always another JS framework around the corner and a better way of doing things
- You play nice: because we all love coming to work and we want you to too

Technically, you'll need:
- Expert knowledge of JS/HTML/CSS (5 years+), and be familiar with MVC frameworks like Laravel
- Experience with AngularJS, React or other modern JS frameworks
- Awareness of cross-browser compatibility issues and client-side performance considerations

Bonus points:
- You have awesome design and UX sensibilities and can play around in Photoshop
- You've worked with the non-profit/charity/advocacy sector before
- You like cat GIFs

The details

- Based in Melbourne, Australia (if you're awesome, we'll consider remote)
- Competitive salary package
