Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the requirements for Social Ventures seeking to host campaigns on Chuffed.org pursuant to Chuffed.org’s Terms and Conditions.
For a campaign to be hosted on Chuffed.org as a Social Project it must at all times satisfy each of the following criteria (collectively, the “Acceptable Use Policy”). Chuffed.org reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether a campaign complies with any part of the Acceptable Use Policy.
1. Social cause criteria
A campaign must:
(a) support a social, environmental, political, community or First Nations cause; and
(b) relate to one of our cause areas, being: Environment, Refugees and Asylum Seekers, Community, Animals, First Nations, Health and Medical, Schools and Education, Social Welfare, Women and Girls, LGBTIQ, Politics, International Development, Social Enterprise, Sports, Personal, Disability, Cancer, Homelessness, Disaster Relief, Volunteering.
2. No harm requirements
Campaigns must not:
(a) advocate for, incite or be likely to result in harm, discrimination, or oppression of marginalised groups (for example, the campaign incites harm against the LGBTQI+ community);
(b) promote views contrary to established scientific consensus (for example, climate change denial, flat-earth theories);
(c) conflict with Chuffed.org’s supported cause areas (for example, a political campaign opposing refugee rights, marriage equality, or climate action);
(d) involve gambling, the sale or procurement of firearms or weapons or the promotion of violent crimes; or
(e) raise money for the conduct or legal defence of (a) to (d) above.
3. Country criteria
A Social Venture must hold a valid bank account and government-issued identification in one of the following jurisdictions in order to collect funds:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States.
Funds can be raised by a Social Venture for beneficiaries or programs located outside this country list, provided that:
(a) the Social Venture meets the above requirements; and
(b) no funds are raised for beneficiaries or programs located in a high risk jurisdiction.
4. Restricted activities
Campaigns must not involve raffles or lotteries, or offer financial products including debt, equity or profit-share arrangements (we aren’t set up to deal with these regulatory requirements).
